Late 18th Century Chinese Export Porcelain Twined & Ribbed Teapot / Married Lid. Late 18th, early 19th century Chinese Export porcelain teapot.Cylindrical body with incised vertical bands that create a ribbed effect. Twined handles with applied foliage style elements attaching them to the pot.
Berry type finial with leaves. Painted with a scattered, all-over floral motif. Small geometric patterns around the base, rims and outer lid. The lid matches the pot, but looks to be a marriage from another piece in the same set. There is no hole for steam, and it sits within the rim about 90% correctly, but not perfectly tight.
No nicks, dings, fleabites and little to no wear. The only issue is a Spider hairline on the bottom (underside) of the teapot, non structural, faint and tight. It measures 9.25 from spout to handle. It is 6.25 tall to the top of the finial.
The opening at top is 3.25" wide, and the body is 5.5" in diameter. The widest point of the body is just over 4 across.
