A 10 Late C19th Chinese Cantonese Famille Rose Medallion Gold Tureen+Lid

  
A Superb and RARE 10 Diagonal Late C19th Chinese Cantonese Famille Rose Medallion Gold Tureen with lid. It has a red stamp mark at base of'Made in China' over a white glazed area (Photo 4 and 5). The lid has a white glazed interior (Photo 9) and a large Plume shape finial in tons of gold (Photo 1, 2, 10 and 11), decorated by 6 panels (Photo 1and 2), 2 of which along the left and right of the finial with large pink enamel blossoms and foilage in circular shape. With other 4 distributed towards 4 corners of the lid within frames of polychrome enamel bats and butterflies - 2 of which with butterfly, blossoms and foliage and the other two with bird, blossoms and foliage, all in the shape of a large basket and arranged in opposite mirror pairs respectively.

In between all panels are filled up by butterflies, blossoms, foliage, Greek symbols and tons of gold (Photo 10 and 11). The internal tureen are decorated with 5 large pink enamel blossoms among other smaller foliage and blossoms above a white glazed background (Photo 3 and 8), while the 4 exterior sides of the tureen are filled up in full by polychrome birds, bats, butterflies Greek symbols, blossoms and foliage all around associated with gold filling between them (Photo 6 and 7). Very Heavy & Good size : Diagonal x Width x Height =. 10" x 7.6" x 5 (25.4 cm x 19.3 cm x 12.7 cm).

In excellent display manner, with extensive wearing, bites and coarse hand feeling on tiny chips along lid rim due to age.
