There is a slight blue cast to the white glaze. The cobalt used is a nice dark cobalt color.
The saucer has a nice soft rise to the lip. It rests on a slight V-shaped foot. The foot is unglazed but the base is. There is a painted double ring on the base with a lotus flower in the center. 4 5/8 (11.7 cm) diameter x 1 (2.5 cm) tall. Weighs 3.6 oz (100 g). There are kiln flaws on the base. There is a tiny chip on the foot ring. There is an area on the saucer rim with tiny frits. There are wear scratches to the inside surface. It shows very well for being so old and having seen usage. You just want to hold and feel the soft glaze on this saucer. The freedom and expertise of the painting shows well. We just ask that you notify us before returning and obtain our authorization.
