This is a very small, old teapot or ewer in blue and white. I do not know exactly when the teapot was made, but I found a similar teapot from the Late Ming / Early Qing / Chongzhen / or Shunzhi period. The handle is broken off. It measures about 3 3/4 inches tall with lid. The teapot measures about 2 3/4 inches tall without the lid.
The top opening measures about 1 5/8 inches across, from one side to the other. The base is about 2 1/2 inches across. The body is about 3 1/2 inches wide, from one side to the other, measured at widest part. There are a few light, surface chips to the lid. There is rubbing/wear to some of the glaze around the top opening and in a few other spots. There is staining inside the vessel. There are tiny pinholes and orange/rust specks on the piece. I do not know the origin nor the age of this piece. This item is in the category "Antiques\Asian Antiques\China\Other Chinese Antiques".
