Chinese 18th C Underglaze Blue Hanging Storage Vessel

  

This item is an antique Chinese underglaze blue decorated hanging storage vessel believed to be from the late 18th Century. The jar would be suspended by four loop handles at the shoulder. When in use it would have had twine or rope of some kind going through the loop handles so it could be suspended and not just sitting on the ground. It is decorated on the sides by two very stylized dragons.

The height is approximately 10"; the maximum width is approximately 7 1/2"; and the width across the top is approximately 4. It weighs 5 lb 1.1 oz.
