ANTIQUE LATE 19 c EDME SAMSON et Cie, FRANCE ; CHINESE EXPORT ARMORIAL STYLE PORCELAIN VASE. The crest is that of Cantillon family at Ballyheigue. A large late-19th century porcelain unusual fish vase skillfully hand-decorated with the armorial crest of the Cantillon family at Ballyheigue. This artistic antique vase stands alone as strong and sculptural objet d'art.

Fortis in Bello motto translates to invincible / strong / courageous in war. Polychrome overglaze enamels feature flower springs, and gilded embellishments with a Chinese diaper pattern border.

Unmarked but made by Samson, Edme et Cie of Paris during the final quarter of the 19th century in the style of Chinese Export armorial wares from the previous century. Very good condition with tiny spots of gilding wear, measuring approx 8 tall.
