A colorful rice pattern bowl with an apocryphal Kangxi mark and a four-clawed dragon design. The thinly potted porcelain bowl with molded rice grains has been decorated with underglaze cobalt designs. The painting in the central well of an elaborate four-clawed dragon and is very well executed.There is a petal pattern around the foot and a bat border at the mouth. The raised foot is unglazed and the base is glazed. The piece has been gilded extensively. There is a four character Kangxi reign mark on the base, as well as an iron red stamped CHINA mark. 4 ¼ (10.8 cm) diameter x 2 (5.1 cm) tall.
Weighs 4.2 oz (120 g). There is a repair to a small chip on the mouth rim. There is a hairline that extends approximately 1 from the mouth rim, and a few rim frits.
The gilding on the mouth rim looks redone and some areas are a bit sloppy. There are a myriad of spots of gold on one side of the lower part of the bowl. An intricate, professionally hand painted old bowl that has the rice pattern.
