In superb, very well preserved overall antique condition, with no cutlery marks, scuffs or abrasions to its interior basin and most importantly, no hairline cracks or edge flea-bites and subsequent ceramic loss. The raised, cleated, round footing on its baseplate is also free of ceramic loss.
Is decorated with a decidedly Chinese themed recurring motif and stamped with a black ink, as well as a pressed, embossed maker's mark'E. The 11 1/2 in diameter ironstone charger has crisp, clean transfer graphic iconography, featuring a central Chinese motif, with a large ornate handled urn with cut flowers, a Chinese gate or painted wooden fencing, a Chinese upholstered chaisse lounge recliner or a serving/writing stand, all surrounded by a recurring perimeter ribbon of meandering flowers.
The flat interior basin is surrounded by scalloped, rising rays that end at the plate's outer margin in a swag edge.
