If it is not immediately to hand (3 storerooms), I will make a note and come back to you if it turns up. This is an Outstanding Example of a Late 18th Century Chinese Exportware Tea Bowl and Saucer Circa 1800.
The tea bowl is hand painted in four panels with opposite panels matching. The main panel is of a master teaching four scholars and the secondary panel is of central cartouche within a black and floral cross hatched ground.The saucer is also hand painted with the same cross hatching forming a continuous ring around the central panel, which is four students listening to a master. The tea bowl, which is 12cm wide and 6cm deep has a continuous floral band around the inside of the rim. It also has one chip to the rim and a faint hairline from that chip. The saucer is 15.5cm across and 3cm deep. It has two very small chips to the rim plus one deeper chip with one faint hairline from this chip.
